Fill a small pot about halfway with water and bring to a boil.

Carefully lower the egg into the pot.

Set a timer for seven minutes. Try to keep the water at a brisk simmer without jostling the egg around more than necessary.

While the egg boils, fill a medium bowl about halfway with lots of ice and cold water.

When the timer rings, take the egg out right away, place in the ice water, and let sit until cool enough to peel.

Place ramen and seasoning packets in a large soup bowl. Add hot water until it covers the noodles. Cover the bowl with a plate and leave for 8 minutes.

Place the ham and green onions on the noodles. Halve the egg and place one half as a topping.

Serve while still hot!
